Chile: Public Ministry confirms discovery of body of former Venezuelan soldier Ronald Ojeda Moreno

Ten days after his kidnapping, Chilean authorities confirmed this Friday that the body found in a Maipú neighborhood corresponds to the former Venezuelan soldier. Ronald Ojeda Morenowho was a refugee in that country and was persecuted by the regime Nicolás Maduro.

“The approximate date of death indicates that it was between seven and 10 days, coinciding with the date on which the kidnapping occurred,” said Barros.

Shortly before confirming Ojeda’s identification, the prosecutor classified the events as “a complex operation linked to organized crime”. He also reported the arrest of a 17-year-old Venezuelan citizen “who is in the country irregularly”.

In turn, the national head of Crimes Against the Person of the PDI, inspector-mayor Catalina Barrias, explained that the body “was found buried 1.40 m” deep, and that “the cause of death will be ascertained at the Medical Service Cool through the autopsy.”
