Colombians arrested in Haiti for Moise’s murder are transferred to another prison

The 17 Colombians arrested in Haiti for the assassination of the president Young Moses in 2021, who were in the civil prison of Port Prince where at least fifteen people died last night in a gang attack, were transferred this Sunday to “other facilities”, official sources confirmed.

O Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs detailed in a statement that “the transfer of Colombians deprived of their liberty occurred later” sending “a diplomatic note to Government of the Republic of Haitiin which I requested that special protection be given to the physical integrity and security of Colombian citizens deprived of liberty in that country.”

The gang attack on the prison allowed 3,597 prisoners to escape, out of a total of 3,696, which represents just over 97% of the inmates of what is the largest prison in the city. Haitian capital.
