Six people died in Argentina when an operator fell into a well while carrying out maintenance work on the sewage network and five others tried to rescue him, official sources reported this Saturday.
The incident occurred in the small town of Blaquierin the municipality of Buenos Aires Florentine Ameghino (about 400 kilometers west of Buenos Aires), when on Friday afternoon an operator passed out inside a pumping well while carrying out maintenance work on the sewage network.

Seeing that he didn’t come out, five other people tried to rescue him and also lost their lives.
In a statement, the municipality of Florentino Ameghino identified the deceased as Ricardo Bottega, Juan Ramón Sánchez, Nicolás Sánchez, Mateo Pellegrino, Carlos Renger and Alejandro Centeno and indicated that the Court is already intervening in the investigation of what happened.
As reported this Saturday by Executive local, autopsies indicate the cause of death as “mechanical asphyxiation due to bronchoaspiration”.
The two firefighters who rescued the bodies of the six victims remained under preventive observation at the local hospital and “They are stable and close to the high,” according to the official medical report.
