Rumors of King Charles III’s death: ‘It’s fake news,’ several British embassies warn

For weeks, the British royal family has been the subject of rumors, each crazier than the last, on social media. In recent hours, a new milestone in disinformation has been reached.

Russian, Belarusian and even Ukrainian media reported (false) information that 75-year-old King Charles III died “suddenly” this Sunday afternoon. All this is accompanied by a pseudo-press release from Buckingham Palace, which is not on the official accounts and websites of the palace.

The rumor was denied by several British embassies. “We would like to inform you that the news about the death of King Charles III is false,” the British Embassy in Ukraine said on X.

Similar statements were made regarding the X-accounts of the British embassies in ArmeniaV Russia or even in Azerbaijan.

2024 brings health problems to the British royal family. In early February, after visiting hospital for prostate surgery, King Charles III announced that he had cancer.

At the same time, Kate Middleton underwent abdominal surgery, followed by a long recovery. Princess Halle then disappeared from media attention until March 10, when a photoshopped photograph of the future Queen Consort was published. The photo caused a wave of suspicion about the true state of health of members of the British crown.

At the moment, Buckingham Palace has not made any statement regarding the situation of King Charles III.
