The president of VietnamVo Van Thuong tendered his resignation on Wednesday after a year in office, amid a widespread anti-corruption purge in the country, state media reported.
O News agency Vietnam (VNA) indicated that Thuong53, pleaded guilty to “non-compliance and deficiencies”, and that the central committee of the ruler Communist Party accepted the resignation.

“Fully aware of his responsibility to the Party, the State and the people, he presented his renounce to your accusations”VNA announced.
The agency added that Thuong He was responsible for violating “regulations” that he did not specify and for not setting a good example as head of state.
