María Corina Machado blames Maduro for the “brutal repression” against her Vente Venezuela party

The leader of the Venezuelan opposition Maria Corina Machado This Wednesday, he blamed President Nicolás Maduro for the “brutal repression” that he believes is being carried out against his party, after learning of the arrest of the head of the party, Henry Alviárez, and the political secretary, the former deputy Dignora Hernandez.

The Maduro regime unleashes brutal repression against my campaign teams (…) These cowardly actions aim to close the path to Venezuela towards change and freedom in peace and democracy”, said the former deputy in X, chosen in the primaries as the candidate of the majority of the opposition for the presidential elections on July 28.

Machado also warned about the arrest requests announced hours earlier by the Public Ministry against seven members of his party, Sell ​​Venezuela (VV), including the head of his campaign, Magalli Meda.

“Venezuelan, I ask you for strength and courage in these difficult times. “Today, more than ever, we need to be united and firm to continue moving towards our goals,” he added.

Hours earlier, Venezuela’s attorney general, Tarek William Saab, denounced the arrest of Alviárez It is Hernandez for his alleged connection to violent plans related to the July elections, in which Maduro will seek a third consecutive six-year term in power.

Saab assured that those captured were planning “violent actions” to “force” the registration of Machado’s candidacy, who is subject to a sanction that prevents him from running for elected office.

Seven VV leaders have been arrested in the last two months, while the Public Ministry today announced the arrest request against the party’s head of communications, Claudia Macero, and former deputy Omar González Moren, among other leaders.

According to investigations, the opponents were planning “attacks on military installations”, as well as “demonstrations and violence in the streets” in light of the elections, in which Machado, despite his disqualification, will try to register between March 21st and 25th, the period defined for the present .
