“More than 30 missiles were shot down, including an aeroballistic missile,” said the head of the Ukrainian state in reference to the hypersonic missile Kinzhalone of the most sophisticated and difficult to intercept in the Russian arsenal.

Alluding to this interception, Zelensky stated that Russia “does not have missiles that can overwhelm” the Patriot and other systems that Kiev’s Western allies have sent to Ukraine.

“Now this protection is needed here in Ukraine. From Kiev to Kharkiv, from Sumi to Kherson, from Odessa to the Donetsk region”The Ukrainian leader highlighted the need to protect the entire national territory.

Zelensky also said that the creation on the entire Ukrainian territory of an anti-missile shield capable of intercepting all Russian missiles “is possible if Ukraine’s partners” have sufficient political will” and send the necessary means to do so.

Ukraine achieved an interception rate of practically one hundred percent in the country’s capital, where it used the best air defense means received from the West. Most regions of the country, however, remain vulnerable to Russian ballistic and aeroballistic missiles.
