Russia claims to have attacked Ukrainian decision-making centers with Kinzhal missiles

The Russian Army launched an attack today targeting decision-making centers and supply bases in Ukraine with long-range, high-precision missiles, including Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

“The Russian Aerospace Force launched an attack with high-precision and long-range aerial weapons, including Kinzhal hypersonic aeroballistic missiles, against decision-making centers, supply bases and areas of deployment of special troops and foreign mercenaries”, indicated the Russian military command in its daily war report.

The Ministry of Defense, which specified that all objectives were achieved, also reported on the taking of Tonenkea small town located about eight kilometers west of Avdivka, a Ukrainian stronghold taken by the Russian army in mid-February.

Ukraine, for its part, stated today having shot down 31 cruise and ballistic missiles that Russia fired this morning against the country’s capital after more than a month and a half without attacks on Kiev.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched an Iskander-M, a Kinzhal hissonic missile and 29 Kh-101 and Kh-555 cruise missiles against the capital.

The cruise missiles were fired from 11 Tu-95MC strategic bombers located at the Volgodonsk and Engels bases, the latter attacked this week by Ukrainian drones.

Fragments from the 31 missiles intercepted by Ukrainian air defenses hit several buildings in three districts of the Ukrainian capital and injured at least 13 people, Kiev authorities previously reported.
