Drug trafficker requested for extradition by Peru is captured in Colombia

The authorities of Colombia captured in Bogotá Colombian Amparo Estela Burbano Solano, requested for extradition by Peru for allegedly being part of a network of drug dealer who sent cocaine to Europe, the Public Ministry reported this Saturday.

The extradition request was made by Fourth Permanent Chamber of Criminal Appeals of the Superior Court of Justice of Callao (Peru), for the woman to appear for the crime of aggravated illicit drug trafficking.

O Colombian Public Ministry added in a statement that the Peruvian judicial authorities established in their request that Burbano Solano “would be part of a transnational drug trafficking network that uses people to send cocaine from Peru to Basel (Swiss), with scale in Amsterdam (Netherlands)”.

At the investigation It was established that people ingested dozens of cocaine fingertips.

The capture of Burban It was carried out by agents of the Technical staff of Investigation (CTIof the Public Prosecutor’s Office), which had the support of the Army’s anti-kidnapping group and the US Marshals Agency of the United States Department of Justice.

The Directorate of International Affairs of the Prosecutor’s office will carry out the relevant procedures before Peruvian Embassy and before other national entities to respond to the extradition request.
