Maduro formalizes candidacy for re-election this Monday and opposition denounces obstacles to Corina Yoris’ registration

If the PUD manages to access and register a candidate, the system will issue a report that will later be presented to the CNE.

The management of the electoral body authorizes or rejects the candidacy, which also may be challenged by third parties.

Since Thursday, nine candidates who present themselves as opponents have registered, but are considered government collaborators. Another 12 organizations in Maduro’s alliance also nominated him.

The final list of candidates will only be available at the end of April.
