Biden orders reconstruction of Baltimore bridge and reopening of port “as soon as possible”

The president of U.S, Joe Bidenordered the reconstruction of the bridge that collapsed this Tuesday in Baltimore and reopen the now blocked door as quickly as possible.

“I have ordered my team to move heaven and earth to reopen the port and rebuild the bridge as quickly as humanly possible,” Biden said in a speech.

The president also announced that federal government will advance funds to pay for the reconstruction of the bridge.

“We will send them all federal resources they need as we respond to this emergency. And I mean everything federal resources. And we will rebuild this port together“, said the American president.

“My intention,” he added, “is that the federal government pay the full cost of rebuilding that bridge. And I hope he Congress support my effort.”

Biden later clarified that the idea is that the Government advance the money until the liability of the container ship is determined.

The strategic bridge Francisco Scott Key in Baltimore collapsed in the early hours of Tuesday due to the impact of a cargo ship that had lost control.

There is six people missing and the port of Baltimoreone of the most important in the country, is blocked indefinitely.
