A 7.3 magnitude earthquake shook the island of Taiwan, which issued a tsunami warning, said the China Seismological Network Center. The epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred at 7:58 am on Wednesday (23:58 GMT on Tuesday), was located at sea, near the coast of Hualien County, with a depth of 15.5 kilometers.
Japanese authorities also issued a tsunami warning for the Okinawa archipelago (southern Japan) for waves of up to 3 meters.
