Lula da Silva calls AMLO to reiterate his support for Mexico in the crisis with Ecuador

The Brazilian president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silvacalled the Mexican president this Tuesday, Andrés Manuel López Obradorto reiterate its support amid the diplomatic conflict with Ecuador due to the invasion of the Ecuadorian Police at the Embassy of Mexico in Quito.

Lula reiterated the solidarity of Brazil with Mexico faced with an episode that meant “a serious violation of international law“, according to a statement from the Brazilian Presidency.

The Brazilian leader guaranteed that he will follow the matter within the scope of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac).

Likewise, Lula announced that he will travel to Mexico before the end of his term AMLOwho will leave the presidency on October 1st, to strengthen bilateral relations.

Lula expressed his support for Mexico last Saturday, one day after the invasion of Mexican Embassy in Quito by the Ecuadorian Police to arrest the former Ecuadorian vice president Jorge Glas inside the diplomatic headquarters.
