Iranian attack on Israel: Hezbollah fires missiles from Lebanon, drones sent by Houthis from Yemen

After the Iranian attack, Israel had other fronts. Lebanese Hezbollah said it bombed an Israeli military position in the occupied Golan Heights as Iran launched a drone attack on Israel on Saturday night.

In a statement, Iran-aligned Hezbollah, which has launched almost daily attacks on Israel for more than six months, said it had fired “dozens of Katyusha rockets” at Israeli barracks located in the Israeli-occupied Syrian Golan. .

Yemen’s Houthi rebels launched drones towards Israel on Saturday night in “coordination” with Iran, which for its part is carrying out an unprecedented attack on Israeli territory, British maritime security company Ambrey said.

“Israeli ports are considered potential targets,” Embry added, warning of possible “collateral damage” to ships.

On Saturday evening, Iran launched a drone and missile attack on Israel. Within minutes of the start of the operation, dubbed the “honest promise”, a message was posted on Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s X account saying: “The evil regime will be punished.”

The attack left the region fearful of an escalation of the conflict. Jordan and Lebanon, Israel’s neighbors, announced the closure of their airspace, as did Iraq, which borders Iran. Egypt, Israel’s neighbor, announced that it was bringing its air defense to maximum combat readiness. Paris and London condemned the Iranian attack.

An emergency Security Council meeting is planned for Sunday after UN chief Antonio Guterres condemned the “serious escalation”. The Israeli military said Iran “launched a constellation of 200 killer drones, ballistic and cruise missiles,” the “vast majority” of which were intercepted.
