Israel: a 10-year-old girl in “critical condition” after being injured by shrapnel in the attack on Iran

A ten-year-old girl from a Bedouin community in southern Israel is in a “critical condition” after being injured by shrapnel during an Iranian drone attack, the Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service said.

Paramedics treated the young woman, who suffered a head injury, and took her, unconscious and ventilated, to Soroka hospital in the Negev region.

The MDA initially identified the victim as a young man, but shortly afterwards renounced his identity.

Emergency services also treated around 20 people who had anxiety or suffered minor injuries while seeking shelter.

Iran attacked Israel this Saturday with hundreds of drones in retaliation for the recent attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, which killed seven members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and which Tehran blames on the Jewish State.

Anti-aircraft alarms sounded in several parts of the country, including Jerusalem, where half a dozen explosions were also heard, which could be interceptions.
