Woman spent millionaire compensation on gangs to avenge her son’s death

On the morning of October 9, Christina López was captured by Fresno police officers, USA. The woman was arrested for 22 crimes, among which are the favoring of criminal gangs and the delivery of firearms to minors.

The first hypotheses suggest that López reinforced all a criminal structure with money from a state repair.

She reportedly received $ 5 million in compensation after Officer Ray Villalvazo murdered Isahia Murrieta-Golding, 16, in 2017.

Isahia was his son.

In April of this year, the county authorities of Fresno They managed to reach an agreement with the affected family and gave López the millionaire sum.

This compensation, according to the conclusions of the investigation, was used by López for “Avenge the death of his son”. She armed a local criminal gang identified as The Calwa. Another of his sons participated in the criminal structure, according to versions delivered by the prosecutor Lisa Smittcamp to local Fresno media.

The woman was linked in a criminal investigation that led to the capture of 14 people, including her, after the gang starred in a loud shooting, in the middle of last July, in which several people died.

López She is being held in a transitional penitentiary while a judge passes her sentence.

The hearing will take place later this week.

The death of Isahia Murrieta-Golding

In 2017, police in the county of Fresno investigated the causes of a shooting that had injured several people. During the reconstruction of the events they came across Isahia and his older brother, who were accused of being the main responsible for the crime.

The police were fully certain that Isahia’s older brother was one of the main culprits in the shooting, so they began the procedure to find the young man’s whereabouts.

They were found transporting in a vehicle along with two other people. The police then decided to stop the vehicle.

They all fled, including Isahia, who was pursued by the authorities for several blocks until he reached the backyard of a kindergarten.

There a metal fence jumped, but the officer Ray Villalvazo shot him without warning, leaving the 16-year-old dying. The minor was transferred to a hospital in the area and died three days later.

At the time, this fact caused outrage among the residents of the county, who called for the removal of Villalvazo due to an obvious case of police abuse.

“They had no legal justification for pointing guns at Isiah, nor any legal justification for seizing Isiah at gunpoint. Isiah exercised his right to self-defense and to resist non-violently the attempts of the accused to arrest him illegally ”, dI posted Michael Haddad, attorney for Isahia’s family, to the Washington Post in 2017.

Isaiah’s older brother, captured earlier that day, pleaded guilty to the crime of murder in the shooting.

For his part, Villalvazo has not been convicted because a judge ruled that the officer’s actions were within the institution’s policies. One of the arguments pointed to the fact that the young man was carrying a firearm and that, when he was killed, he was trying to remove it from his pocket.

However, surveillance video showed that the young man was only pulling up his pants to be able to run.

The case lasted under investigation for the last four years until Christina López, Isahia’s mother, received the compensation money and began to develop her revenge with local criminal gangs, but was captured last Saturday.

She will be convicted of 22 crimes during the week.
