A small plane crashes in the city and kills two, including the pilot

A passenger plane crashed in the middle of a town in Santee, about 30 km from San Diego in California (United States). The crash of the machine, a twin-engine Cessna C340, occurred this Monday around noon, reports the American channel NBC 7.

The accident left two dead, two injured and caused the fire in two houses. A utility vehicle also caught fire. According to the first elements collected by the authorities and the firefighters of the city, the two victims are the pilot of the plane and a UPS driver who was in his van.

A couple rescued in extremis

It is not yet known whether any passengers were on board the plane with the pilot. An investigation has been opened into the facts. It has already revealed that a few moments before the crash, an air traffic controller informed the pilot that he was flying too low. He would have asked him several times to gain altitude.

Ashore, a couple living in one of the two burnt down houses were rescued by neighbors. They took the seriously burned woman out through a window and dragged her husband out of the field, passing under the fence. The crash occurred not far from a high school but fortunately did not injure any of the students.
