The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, says that if his country “falls” there could be a Third World War

The Prime Minister of UkraineDenys Shmyhal, stated that his country’s descent into war with Russia could lead to “a Third World War”, while asking for “funds” to be able to protect his country, in a statement to the British BBC.

Shmyhal made the comments on public television while urging the US Congress to pass a long-stalled bill.

In statements made from Washington, the Ukrainian politician expressed “cautious optimism” regarding the possibility of the US House of Representatives approving a measure through which 61 billion dollars (around 71 billion euros) would be allocated to Kyiv.

The country’s Chamber of Deputies is expected to vote this Saturday on an aid package for Ukraine which would also include Israel and the Indo-Pacific, and the American president, Joe Bidenpledged to sign the measure immediately if lawmakers authorize the funds, after several months of delays in Congress.

“We need this money yesterday, not tomorrow, not today. If we don’t protect Ukraine… Ukraine will fall. The global security system will be destroyed and everyone will have to find a new security system,” warned Shmyhal.

The Ukrainian Prime Minister stressed that a hypothetical fall of his country into the war with Russia It would lead to “many conflicts, many types of wars and, in the end, this could lead to World War III”.
