Argentina: Police arrest 23-year-old man who threatened Milei over the phone

The Federal Police Argentina reported this Saturday that it had arrested a 23-year-old man who made repeated death threats over the phone to Argentine President Javier Milei, who took office on December 10.

On March 2, the Constitutional Crimes Division of the State Security Directorate received a report regarding an anonymous, violent and intimidating call made to the 911 Emergency Call Center in the city of La Plata, capital of the province of good air.

In the call, a man threatened to kill the president, telling the operator “Death to Milei”(sic) and immediately cut off communication.

Subsequently, on March 10 and 13, two identical calls were received at 911 in La Plata with which, thanks to the investigations already carried out, it was determined that the origin of the communications was at an address located in the city of José Mármol, also in province of good air.

With the evidence obtained, the National Penal and Correctional Court 2 of Lomas de Zamora ordered a search of the aforementioned property, where the person involved was arrested – and left at the disposal of the intervening magistrate – and three cell phones were seized.
