London: accused of murdering a minor with a sword, he has Brazilian and Spanish nationality

Marcus Arduini Monzo, the man accused of murdering a 14-year-old boy with a sword last Tuesday in the east LondonHe has dual Spanish and Brazilian nationality, as indicated this Thursday in his first court appearance.

Arduini, arrested at the scene after injuring four other people – two of them police officers – appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court in a preliminary hearing, at which he confirmed his identity.

In addition to murder, the Public Prosecutor’s Office accuses him of two crimes of attempted murder, another two of serious physical harm, theft and possession of a sharp item.

At this hearing it was specified that the accused, aged 36 and living in the London neighborhood of Newham, allegedly crashed a van into a fence before 6am GMT on Tuesday, running over a passerby.

Prosecutors say he later ran after Daniel Anjorin, a 14-year-old boy walking to school, and slashed his neck before stabbing him in the chest as he lay on the ground.

Police arrived at the scene – close to the Hainault metro station – and the attacker attacked an officer, seriously injuring her in the arm with his arm. swordwhile another colleague was injured in the hand, also seriously.

A police spokesman said this Thursday that the two officers were recovering from their injuries, after previously London Metropolitan Police (Met) Commissioner Mark Rowley warned that the officer could lose the use of his arm.

The Police ruled out that the attack was of a terrorist nature and clarified that they were not looking for accomplices.
