Judge Juan Merchán already imposed a $9,000 fine on the real estate mogul on Tuesday for violating his order on nine occasions and warned him that he could be arrested for continuing to attack witnesses, the jury and court members online. social.

Prosecutor Christopher Conroy urged the judge at the hearing to re-fine Trump a maximum of $1,000 for each of four new violations of his order.

“We are not yet asking for a prison sentence,” he warned.

The defendant violated the voluntary order and knowingly,” Conroy said, before adding that the Republican “thinks the rules should be different for him.”

He demonstrated, he added, “his willingness to say and do anything to stop this process.”

The judge said that is not true and that there was nothing in his order that would prevent Trump from responding to Biden.

Merchan also disputed Trump’s claim that he cannot get a fair trial in New York because it is a majority-Democratic city.

“He talked about the jury (…) and that it was 90% Democrat,” said Merchan. “The implication is that this is not a fair jury.”

The judge has not issued any ruling at this time regarding the alleged violations.

– “Electoral interference” –

Trump took advantage of the fact that there was no hearing in Wednesday’s trial to hold a campaign rally in Wisconsin, where he accused President Biden of his legal problems and the evils afflicting the country.

Before appearing in court on Thursday, he denounced the trial as “election interference” and said the case “should never have been dismissed.”

So far, the court has seen an eclectic group of witnesses, including a lawyer, Keith Davidson, who helped negotiate hush money payments to Daniels just days before the 2016 election.

Davidson returned to the stand on Thursday following the hearing into gag order violations.

Trump is the first former US president to face criminal charges.

For two weeks, Trump watched hours of testimony, sometimes technical, visibly irritated with the judge, who demanded his presence every day.

The former president transformed the avalanche of media that awaits him at the entrance and exit of the hearings into a phenomenal speaker to complain about his legal problems and other issues that make the media talk about him almost all day long.
