Chiapas: attack on candidate leaves two people dead

An attack against Juan Gómez Morales, candidate of the Chiapas Unidos party for the municipal presidency of Benemérito de las Américas, in the south of the state of Chiapas, Mexicoleft two dead and some injured, the political organization and its leader Conrado Fuentes Astudillo revealed this Saturday.

“We are very sorry and strongly condemn the events that occurred in the municipality of Benemérito de las Américas, where our candidate Juan Gómez Morales suffered a to try. We offer our deepest condolences for the loss of your loved ones,” shared the Chiapas Unidos Party.

“We will not fall for provocations, nor use force and violence to achieve what they once dreamed of, it really makes me very sad and generates a lot of disappointment to see how in some places, like in the case of Benemérito de las Américas yesterday Unfortunately, there was a tragic moment,” he said.

The party leader also asked that this electoral process “can be lived in peace and that there are no more human losses”.
