Maduro says Milei is afraid of “the people’s truth” due to Telesur going off the air

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduroassured this Monday that his counterpart from Argentina, Javier Mileihe is afraid of “truth of the people”, after the multistate channel Telesur reported that its broadcast was canceled on Open Digital Television (TDA) in the south of the country.

“Are you afraid Milei of the truth of the people“, said the Venezuelan president on his weekly program.

He added that Argentines will continue to see Telesur through social networks.

“You will not be able to censor Telesur. Telesur will be more powerful than you, Milei, don’t worry“, sustained.

The multistate channel, based in Venezuelareported this Monday that its broadcast on Open Digital Television (TO ADD) Argentinaas informed by Telesur in a statement.

“The censorship of the media against Telesur in Argentina represents a serious attack on the right to information, by limiting access to dissenting voices, restricting the plurality of information, undermining the possibility of having informed opinions and actively participating in public debate.“said the channel in the statement published by the Venezuelan Minister of Communications, Freddy Nañez.

Telesur is a channel that was created with the participation of the Governments of Argentina, Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Uruguay and Venezuela.
