Tanks on the ground and strategic capture. On Tuesday morning, the Israeli army announced that it controls the Rafah border post, the crossing point with Egypt in the south of the Gaza Strip. During this ground operation, they said they killed “about 20 terrorists” and destroyed “military buildings and underground infrastructure.” For the IDF, this is officially a “targeted counter-terrorism operation” designed to destroy the last Hamas battalions in the enclave.
The explosions killed at least 27 people last night, two Rafah hospitals said. The transfer of humanitarian aid has been stopped, a sign of control by the forces of the Jewish state, while the UN has assured that it has been denied passage and is demanding its opening.
