O European Union (EU) stated this Friday that Russia has no real interest in peace in Ukraine but, on the contrary, increase tension in its war of aggression against that country through more attacks against civilian targets.
“Russia has made it very clear that it is not interested in this summit, (Russian President Vladimir) Putin has made it clear with his actions that he is interested in escalation,” indicated during the daily press conference of the European Commission Peter StanoSpokesperson for the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security, Josep Borrell.

Stano He said this when asked about the position of the HUH about Russia’s absence from the peace summit taking place this weekend in Burgenstock (Switzerland), a meeting that countries like China.
“The constant message of Kremlin is that they want to keep going up, because in fact they are going up“, commented the spokesperson, referring to the fact that the”barbaric attacks”against civilian targets.
In this situation, he considered that it was not possible “talk to the attacker” but with members of the international community to contribute to a point where Russia stop its war, although it recognized that this is currently not “China’s position”.
Stano recalled that the meeting of Swiss will not be “a final peace conference, but a peace summit” with “members of the international community interested in defending international law.”
The objective, therefore, is “develop a process with common parameters for a just peace, rooted in United Nations Charter”he said, and acknowledged that “We’re not there yet (at this point) when parties participate.”
