Elizabeth II: the queen who does not react, this time she was outraged: “They speak, but they do not act”

The queen of England she’s angry. Or that’s what the world’s press is talking about. Forgetting your distance from political issues, Isabel II would have argued that the way climate change is treated is “irritating”.

This would have been made known by the monarch during the inauguration of the Parliament of Wales in Cardiff. While chatting with the Duchess of Cornwall and the speaker of parliament, Elin Jones, a video recorded his words.

CNN wrote down his words:

I’ve been hearing all about the COP … I still don’t know who will come”Said Elizabeth II clearly.

But the controversy – triggered by an unintelligible sound record – came later. According to the medium, only a couple of sentences are understood: “they speak but do not act” e “irritating”. That would have been enough to interpret that the queen is not happy.

THE POSITION OF THE ROYAL FAMILY

Beyond the surprise of seeing the queen go out of protocol, it is true that the royal family – in the voice of the prince William– has decided to speak to the public about the issue.

In an interview with the BBC program, Newscast, he argued:

Young people are growing up in places where their future is constantly threatened. It is very disconcerting and generates a lot of anxiety”.

William also referred to the milestone in the life of William Shatner, popular for being part of “Star Trek“: A few days ago, it became the”oldest person to go to space”, Thanks to the program Blue Origin from Jeff Bezos.

We need some of the best brains and minds in the world focused on fixing this planet, not trying to find the next place to live.”.

In fact, William’s are not the only criticisms being made of billionaire-funded space programs.

In July of this year, David Beasley, Director of the United Nations World Food ProgramHe pleaded with the wealthy to care more about solving Earth’s problems.

On Twitter, he wrote:

I need $ 6 billion to feed 41 million people who are on the brink of starvation. To the billionaires who have been so successful: please come work with us for the good of humanity”.

With your help, we can make this world a better and peaceful place.”.

It is, of course, a way of approaching the problem very different from that of Jeff Bezos himself. For him, the answers to the earth’s crises are outside the planet. In a video, he explained his point of view:

What Blue Origin is all about is being able to practice so much that we become very good at space travel, that this is more like taking a commercial plane than traditional space travel.”.

If we can do it we will be building a path into space for the next generations to do incredible things there. And those amazing things will solve the problems here, on Earth”.

But that does not resolve what Prince William also criticized in his conversation with the BBC. He highlighted an issue that usually goes unnoticed: the amount of carbon that is emitted from space flights. “That is the fundamental question”.

When asked if he was interested in space travel, he replied that he had no “absolutely no interest”.
