Claudia Sheinbaum will announce the “first part” of her presidential cabinet on Thursday

The future president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaumhe explained this Monday that next Thursday he will present “the first part” of the members of his presidential cabinet, who will begin to take office after his inauguration scheduled for October 1st.

The winner of the June 2 elections warned that this week will be “busy” because, in addition to Thursday’s announcement, she will meet on Wednesday with the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) and, from Friday , will visit the current President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, in the south of the country.

This announcement comes after the first joint trip with López Obrador to the north of the country, which the president classified in his morning conference as “very good”, and as part of the transition tasks, which began last week.

Leading the transition team is Mexico’s former representative to the United Nations (UN) and former rector of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Juan Ramón de la Fuente.

On the other hand, and asked about what position her Cabinet will take in the area of ​​migration, she reiterated “the importance of cooperation for development” and the opening of “legal channels” for the migratory flow, ideas that she will continue to insist on with Canada and, above all, with the United States.

“In November there will be elections in the USA and now, with whoever will win the elections, we will continue with this high-level dialogue”, assured the future president.

Sheinbaum, who will be the first president of Mexico, won the elections with 59.76% of the votes, equivalent to more than 35.9 million votes in his favor, the highest historical record, compared to 27.4% for the opposition Xóchitl Gálvez , which got 16.5. million votes, according to data from the National Electoral Institute (INE).

With a new large majority in Congress that will begin on September 1, the ruling National Regeneration Movement (Morena) party seeks to promote López Obrador’s controversial constitutional reforms, such as the judicial one, which intends that magistrates and electoral advisors, as well as Judges and ministers of the Federal Supreme Court are elected by popular vote.
