Canada: four people injured in machete attacks

Calgary Police (Alberta State in Canada) are targeting a suspect after four people were injured in a series of machete attacks in the city center on Friday morning.

According to CBC, the attacks took place in different parts of the city and it is looking for the person responsible. “We continue to believe that these attacks are random and we have not identified a clear motive.”Superintendent Cliff O’Brien commented to the aforementioned media.

The first case occurred at the Fourth Street LRT station. It was a man who asked for help after being wounded with a machete. O’Brien claimed that Transit workers performed first aid maneuvers to save the victim’s life.

Thirty minutes later, the second attack occurred at a nearby location. Both men were taken to Foothills Hospital for emergency surgery.

The third occurred in the 100 block of Sixth Avenue SW and the fourth occurred at the southern end of the Puente de la Paz.
