Shanghai Disneyland is placed in confinement by a coronavirus patient who visited the park

The Disneyland amusement park in the eastern Chinese city of Shanghai was temporarily confined due to the detection of a contagion of coronavirus covid-19 who had visited the compound.

In a statement published late this Sunday on its website, Disneyland announced that it would close this Monday and Tuesday to “comply with the prevention and control requirements of the pandemic.”

According to authorities in neighboring Zhejiang province, a case detected in the capital, Hangzhou, I had visited Shanghai Disneyland this Saturday.

All those who were in the enclosure at 6:00 p.m. local time (10.00 GMT) on Sunday or who spent the night in one of its hotels must take a coronavirus test before being able to leave, and another, after 24 hours.

If both are negative, they will still have to monitor their health status for another 12 days.

The digital newspaper Caixin points out that at around 6.30 pm local time (10.30 GMT) this Sunday there were some 46,000 people in the park.

The local government, which temporarily closed the metro station that serves the enclosure, gave orders that all visitors to Disneyland Shanghai during October 30 and 31 undergo coronavirus tests as soon as possible, and not left home in at least two days.

Likewise, they must undergo additional tests on the second, seventh and fourteenth day after the first test.

The latest outbreaks of covid in China They present a higher proportion of serious cases, since it would be caused by the delta variant -considered more contagious- and at least 40% of those infected are people over 60 years of age.

According to the latest official data, the number of active cases nationwide now stands at 869, of which 33 are serious.
