Hearing against Prince Andrew for sexual assault will be on January 4 in New York

A judge of New York set a hearing for January 4 in which the attorneys for the prince Andrew from Great Britain, accused of sexual assault by an American, will ask that the process be dismissed.

“The court will hear the arguments on the defendant’s request to dismiss the complaint on January 4, 2022 at 10:00 am,” Judge Lewis Kaplan reported.

The Duke of York has been facing this case since August 2021, when he appeared before the Manhattan Federal Court a complaint from the American Virginia Giuffre, 38, in which he accused the second son of Queen Elizabeth II of “Sexual assault” when I was a minor, more than 20 years ago.

In your complaint, Giuffre accuses Prince Andrew of being “one of the mighty men “ to whom she was supposedly “delivered for sexual purposes” between 2000 and 2002, when she was 16 years old, and claims that she was a victim of the perverse network of sex trafficking by which the financier Jeffrey Epstein he was charged and jailed.

Epstein committed suicide in a Manhattan prison in the summer of 2019.

Prince Andrew, 61, denies the charges and asked the US courts to dismiss the complaint as there was no “basis”, adding that Giuffre he was looking to profit financially from the case.

The trial, if the prince’s request is rejected, should take place “between September and December next year,” Judge Kaplan predicted Wednesday.
