Ron DeSantis: Florida Governor Announces Re-Election In 2022

The governor of Florida, Republican Ron DeSantis, a political ally of former US President Donald Trump, announced this Monday that he will run for reelection in the elections that will be held in exactly one year, on November 8, 2022.

In an email to his followers, DeSantis, which has sounded like a candidate for the presidential elections of 2024 and even Trump went so far as to say that it could be his formula for the Vice Presidency if the real estate mogul launches his candidacy, presented again to the state as that of freedoms.

DeSantis He has faced the policies of the US President, Democrat Joe Biden, mainly those related to handling the pandemic, but also immigration policy.

Last week his government filed a lawsuit against a measure by the Democrat that obliges employers to vaccinate their staff against coronavirus when considering it “unconstitutional”.

DeSantis It will face, among others, the winner of the Democratic primary, which for now has as its main candidates Congressman Charlie Crist, Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried, the only Democrat in Florida’s cabinet, and Colombian-American state senator Annette Tadeo.

“Friend, I am running for reelection because I have a mission to keep Florida free and because I have shown that I have the courage to lead.”, He expressed DeSantis in the message.

From the beginning of the pandemic, the Republican was reluctant to shut down the economy and the mandatory use of masks, and then he has waged a battle, including a judicial one, against the so-called vaccination passports.

In his message he indicates that he has kept Florida free from the mandates of the federal government that “They tried to take away his livelihoods and take away his freedoms through mandates and closures.”

“And buddy, I’ve only just started fighting. We have work to do and I am ready to continue my fight for this great state ”, the Republican said in the mail, in which he requested financial support for his campaign.
