The president of Argentina receives a booster dose against the coronavirus

The president of Argentina, Alberto Fernandez, received this Monday a booster dose of the vaccine against covid-19, reported official sources.

It is reported that, today, the President of the Nation, Alberto Ángel Fernández, received the booster dose against covid-19″, the Presidential Medical Unit said in a brief statement.

Fernández, 62, had received the first dose of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine on January 21 of this year and was later inoculated with the second.

After completing the two-dose vaccination scheme, the Argentine head of state tested positive for coronavirus last April, although the infection passed with mild symptoms.

With some 45 million inhabitants, Argentina began its vaccination campaign against the coronavirus at the end of last year.

According to official data released this Monday, 69.8 million doses have been applied so far.

A total of 36.9 million people received the first dose of the vaccine, while 30.4 million people were already inoculated with the second.

Likewise, 1.6 million people have received a third additional dose and 808,405 a booster dose, within the framework of the vaccination strategy that began in November to reinforce the immunity of various groups.
