United States: FBI investigates threat of attack on schools posted on TikTok

This Friday, several schools from U.S raised alerts to parents about a threat of multiple attack with firearms, which appeared on the popular social media platform TikTok. This threat is being investigated by the FBI.

School districts and law enforcement officials downplayed the credibility of a video circulated on TikTok announcing several attacks on schools across the country on Friday.

Despite that, many schools sent notices to parents of students, as the threat came less than three weeks after four students were killed in a shooting at a high school in Oxford, Michigan.

The Pennsbury School District in Pennsylvania informed parents that there would be an increased police presence around school buildings even though they do not think that “the threat is credible”.
