Pedro Sánchez congratulates Gabriel Boric, “hope for a more just and feminist future”

The President of the Government of Spain, the socialist Pedro Sánchez, congratulated the elected president of Chile, Gabriel Boric, winner in the elections held today, whom he considers a “Hope for a fairer, feminist and environmental future”.

The Chilean progressive candidate Boric won this Sunday the Presidency of Chile by obtaining 55.7% of the votes according to the latest results.

“Econgratulations Gabriel Boric -Sanchez has written on social networks- for your victory in the presidential elections of Chile. The Chilean people move forward with hope towards a more just, feminist and environmental future “.

In his message on Twitter, the Spanish president added: “Our countries will continue to strengthen their relations, strengthening ties between Latin America and the European Union ”.

The young left-wing deputy Gabriel Boric, standard bearer of the Broad Front and the Communist Party, won the Presidency of Chile this Sunday by obtaining 55.7% of the votes with 92% of the polls scrutinized.

“I will be the president of Chile of all the Chilean men and women, I will not rule only between four walls ”, He said Boric during a televised phone call with the outgoing president, the conservative Sebastián Piñera.

His opponent, the far-right lawyer Jose Antonio Kast, obtained 44.27% of the votes, one of the largest differences in a ballot in the recent history of Chile.
