Mexico: 38 people murdered over the weekend in the violent state of Guanajuato

The wave of violence that prevails in Guanajuato, Mexico, generated terror this weekend with a balance of 38 people killed in armed attacks, including a municipal policeman from León, and 13 more seriously injured. In all cases without detainees.

León was the epicenter of intentional homicides with 10 people killed. At 6:30 p.m. this Saturday, 23-year-old officer Abraham “N” was about to board an Uber vehicle on Nuguete street in the Villa de las Flores neighborhood, when subjects with long weapons shot him several times until I see him dejected.

In the Central de Abastos de LeónOn Friday morning, two men were killed and three more injured in a shooting that broke out amid hundreds of consumers and merchants. While on Saturday the execution of a woman and a man was recorded in the Ribera de la Presa neighborhood, north of the city.

Among the high-impact criminal events, two massacres stand out in the early morning and afternoon of Saturday in which two commandos killed nine people, three of them women, in Cuerámaro and Valle de Santiago.

At 7:00 p.m. a group of men forcibly entered a house located on Mendoza Street, in the San Antonio de Terán community, in Valle de Santiago, where they killed three women and two men: María, Ramona, Carolina, Cristian and Sergio, who were allegedly in a meeting.

The State Attorney General reported that in the building he found ballistic elements and criminal experts collected rolls of labels alluding to a criminal group.

Another massacre occurred during a party that was taking place in a house on Emiliano Zapata Street, in the El Tigre de Cuerámaro neighborhood, with four men killed and two injured.

In all cases, the prosecution began investigation files and collected evidence

The homicides occurred in the four regions of the state, four of them in commercial areas, others in homes and on public roads.

Although most of the deaths occurred from the first minute of Friday until 2:00 p.m. this Sunday, they were concentrated in León (10), Valle de Santiago (7), Celaya (6), Cuerámaro (4), Salamanca, Purísima and Cortazar with two homicides each.
