China detects 77 new positives of COVID-19, 57 of them by local contagion

The National Health Commission of China announced today the detection of 77 new positives of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus this Tuesday, 57 of them due to local contagion in Shaanxi (center, 53), Guangzhou (southeast, 2), Tianjin (northeast, 1) and Guangxi (south, one).

The remaining 20 cases were found among overseas travelers in Guangxi (south, 6), Shanghai (east, 5), Yunnan (south, 4), Guangzhou (southeast, 3), Tianjin (northeast, 1) and Zhejiang (east , one).

The health authorities also reported today the detection of 19 asymptomatic cases, all from abroad, although Beijing does not count them as confirmed cases unless they manifest symptoms.

The total of this type of infections under observation is 501, of which 463 come from other territories.

The National Health Commission also detailed that, until last local midnight (16:00 GMT on Tuesday), 80 patients were discharged after successfully overcoming COVID-19.

The total number of active infected in mainland China amounts to 1,765, seven of which are serious.

According to the accounts of the institution, since the beginning of the pandemic, 100,544 people have been infected in the country, among whom 94,143 have managed to heal and 4,636 died.

To date, 1,394,304 close contacts with infected people have been followed up, of which 55,187 continue to be observed.
