Youtuber climbs unprotected to the antenna of the Latin Tower of Mexico and boasts it in networks

A photo on Instagram left more than one with their mouths open when it showed a young man taking a selfie from the antenna of the Latin American Tower of the Mexico City.

Selerdios, as it is called in Instagram, he let see in one of his most recent publications on the social network a selfie at the top of the Torre Latino, in the heart of the Mexico City.

Without protection And just with a selfie stick in one hand and his cell phone in the other, the young man showed his act to the climb and reach the highest point of the emblematic tower.

So far, the publication has accumulated 2,000 likes and various comments in which approve and disapprove what was done by the young man.

This is not the first time that the young scale buildings as tall as the Torre Latino, because in his Instagram account he shows photos of more sites that he has uploaded without any protection.

Selerdios is defined as “Rooftopper”, a term that refers to people who climb skyscraper without any protection, and almost always illegally.

It also has a YouTube channel in which he shows how he scales the buildings and takes Panoramic views of the site, and in this case, he did it in the Latin Tower.

Deaths from selfies in Mexico

The photos on social networks have made it possible to show the lives of Internet users in different areas, but there are some that position Mexico in a ninth place by deaths: selfies.

A study that reveals the countries where they have been registered more deaths from selfies since 2008, it showed that in Mexico have happened 10 deaths because of this, where the majority of victims were tourists They did not know the area, nor its risks.

The study reveals that 70% of deaths occurred in accidents related to means of transport (including trains); 30% involved the use of a firearm and 20% were from falls.

The most deaths in the country was women, with 62.5%; while the mens accounted for 37.5%. The average age was 19.4.

In 2017 the highest number of deaths, with four; in 2014 there were two; the same in 2018; for 2019 and 2020 there was one, respectively.

The states where they were registered were Chihuahua, Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosí, Mexico City and Puebla.

The Spanish University Miguel Hernández (UMH) of Elche, and the IO Foundation participated in the research, which reveals that between January 2008 and July 2021 they were registered, at least 379 deaths derived from a selfie.

This list is led by India with 100 deaths in that period, followed by the United States, with 39, Russia, with 33, Pakistan, with 21, and Brazil, with 17. Mexico ranks ninth, with 10 deaths. Most of the victims were tourists who did not know the area, or its risks.
