France imposes teleworking and advances the booster dose to 3 months for the fifth wave of the coronavirus

The government of France announced on Monday new measures to curb the fifth wave of coronavirus, among which are the imposition of teleworking at least three days a week as well as advancing the booster dose from five to three months after the first two injections.

The first Minister, Jean Castex, made these announcements after the approval of a bill in the Council of Ministers to be approved by the French Assembly in January.

This text excludes drastic measures, since for the moment the return to school will be maintained on January 3, 2022 and a curfew is ruled out, although it does provide for the restriction of public concentrations.

Castex, who appeared together with the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, emphasized the increase in the rate of vaccination (currently 78% of the total population -including children- has at least one dose) and for this he confirmed that the current health pass it will become one of vaccination.

With this change, the unvaccinated, who until now could present a negative test, will have to demonstrate an inoculation from January 15, 2022 to be able to go to cinemas, theaters, museums, transport, cafes and sports facilities.

The president also warned that fines against the use of false health passes, which are estimated at hundreds of thousands, will be toughened.

“This practice scandalizes me, as prime minister and citizen, it is a deliberate act of putting other people at risk and no personal conviction justifies it,” said Castex, without determining the details of those new fines that will be given this Friday after a series of legal consultations.

The leader was also concerned about the large crowds. As of January, limits of 2,000 people will be established for closed premises and 5,000 for those outside.

Consumption in bars, restaurants and movie theaters will also be regulated. In the former, it can only be done sitting, and in the latter, it is not possible to eat or drink so as not to remove the mask, a measure that will also affect transport.
