In Santa Cruz since last Wednesday the medical brigades have been making house-to-house tours to detect new cases.

The Departmental Emergency Operations Committee (COED) of that department ordered this Thursday the prohibition of circulation between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., from Saturday 8 to Monday, January 17 as a measure to contain the escalation of infections.

Although the fourth that began at the end of October has shown an exponential increase in cases, it registers a fatality rate of 0.7%, which remains below the records of the three previous peaks that were manifested in 2020 and the first semester of 2021.

The vaccination process that began almost a year ago has managed to apply more than 10.4 million vaccines out of a total of more than 22 million that the country has available.

The detail shows that 5,042,612 first doses have been used, 3,751,331 of the second and 613,651 booster applications, while there are 992,616 single immunizations, all over 18 years of age.

In the population aged 12 to 17 years, 564,474 first doses and 347,663 of the second were administered, while in the range of 5 to 11 years, 303,087 and 31,730 applications of first and second components were applied, respectively.

In Bolivia, the immunizers Sinopharm and Sputnik V, acquired through state purchases, are used, along with those of the type Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Janssen and Moderna, which are donations that have mostly been channeled through the United Nations’ Covax mechanism.

Bolivia applied since January 1 the requirement to present the vaccination card as a requirement for procedures and entry to public and private sites, however on the eve it has decided to postpone that measure until January 26.

The determination initially caused a large part of the population to turn towards the vaccination points, exceeding the daily expectations of this work, however there was also the saturation of the immunization services with extensive lines.
