The contagions began to skyrocket in the last weeks of 2021, before which the Bolivian Executive declared a health emergency and the main cities suspended the New Year holidays.

Officially the circulation of omicron has not been confirmed in Bolivia, despite the fact that cases with this new variant have already been detected in border countries.

The requirement from this week for the vaccination card or a negative PCR test to enter public places or travel has made people go en masse to be immunized in recent days.

Given this, the Government of Luis Arce decided to suspend this measure until next January 26 to decongest the immunization centers and prevent agglomerations from being generated.
