Colombia reports 30,630 coronavirus cases and 50 deaths in one day

The Ministry of Health of Colombia reported this Sunday 50 deaths from covid-19 and 30,630 new cases, which represents a slight decrease compared to the accelerated growth in recent days due to the incidence of the omicron variant in the country.

The positivity rate also fell compared to 43% yesterday and of the 105,400 tests carried out (46,158 PCR and 59,242 antigens), 29% were positive.

With today’s figures, the country already accumulates 5,330,662 cases, of which 138,056 remain active, 5,043,410 patients appear as recovered and 130,338 died.

FIGURES FROM THE CONFERENCE

The infections of the day were again concentrated in the three most populated regions of the country: Bogotá accumulated 8,659 cases; the department of Antioquia, whose capital is Medellín, 7,517, and Valle del Cauca, with its capital in Cali, 4,871.

The deaths of the day, of which xx belong to previous days, happened in Valle del Cauca (15), Antioquia (12), Huila and Santander (4), Bogotá (3), Atlántico, Chocó, Quindío and Risaralda (2 each) and Caquetá, Cauca, Cundinamarca and Nariño (1 each).

On the other hand, 312,792 vaccines were applied on Friday, of which 136,177 correspond to second doses and 16,865 to the single-dose formula of the pharmaceutical company Janssen.

With this, 66.2 million doses have been applied in the country and 29 million people have their complete vaccination scheme, which is equivalent to 57% of the population.
