The US puts 8,500 soldiers on alert before a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine

The Pentagon has mobilized some 8,500 soldiers on alert and “ready” to deploy in Eastern Europe, within NATO, in the event that Russia invades Ukraine.

This was stated by the Pentagon spokesman, John Kirby, at a press conference, where he noted that U.S wants to be ready for the movements of Russia and clarified that at the moment these US military do not have an assigned mission or a deployment.
