The price of the US dollar in Peru was trading downwards in the informal or parallel market today, Tuesday, May 31, 2022. The exchange rate remained at S/ 3,660 for purchase and S/ 3,700 for sale, according to exchange houses in Lima. .
On the other hand, in the interbank market, the greenback closed at S/ 3,674, according to data from the Central Reserve Bank.
The monetary entity detailed that the dollar has a decline of 7.57%% so far in 2022, compared to the result recorded at the end of last year (S / 3,991).
Globally, European stocks fell on Tuesday and Wall Street headed for a lower open as rising crude prices stoked fears of a further acceleration in global inflation that would make the Federal Reserve and other banks central banks continue to raise interest rates.
According to Reuters, markets ignored signs that China’s economic pain might be easing amid the easing of COVID-19 controls and focused instead on the inflation outlook.
