SNCF strike: 200% compensation form available online, here’s how to fill it out

This is an “exceptional” measure. All passengers whose train was canceled due to the SNCF strike, regardless of whether they were able to exchange their ticket, will be able to receive a refund of up to 200% of the value of their ticket. The railroad company posted a form online on Thursday to make the claim. Here’s how to use it.

Who is eligible? All passengers whose train has been cancelled. Everyone has the option to change their ticket free of charge or request a refund using the payment method used. In each of the two cases, SNCF also provides for a refund of 200% of the ticket price in vouchers. This credit can be used to purchase future train tickets online. This “compensation can in no case be obtained at the station or in the store,” the company warns.

How to apply? Go to tout-oui.sncf.com. This is a chatbot that should then take you to the appropriate form. We’ve seen it easier, but here’s how to do it: tap or click “Train removed”, click on the period corresponding to the public movement period (“between 12/23/2022 and 12/26/2022”), confirm that it was canceled due to a strike, and you will finally be able to access the form with precise instructions on how to complete it.

How about Ouigo trains? This approach does not work for passengers who have purchased tickets from the low-cost SNCF Ouigo network. And for good reason: the process is automatic. The credit note “will be emailed to you automatically in the coming days,” the company wrote. Ouigo promises that all affected customers will touch it by January 3rd.
