Rolls-Royce knows no crisis and signs record sales

Crisis, inflation? At Rolls Royce, we don’t know. The British luxury car manufacturer hit its highest annual sales in 2022 in its 118-year history, with 6,021 units sold.

Contrary to generic makers who grimace, the manufacturer’s sales are up 8% compared to 2021, with deliveries to “customers in about fifty countries,” according to parent company BMW. Sales were dominated by the US, China and Europe.

Same success for Ferrari and Lamborghini

The dynamics of the luxury car market, which is typical for other brands. Ferrari and Lamborghini, the results of which are expected, recorded record results and an unprecedented level of orders in the first half of the year. Lamborghini already announced in August that it had already sold out all of its products through early 2024.

This market is in stark contrast to the rest of the automotive market, which is struggling to recover from the pandemic and is suffering from a global semiconductor shortage.

Especially since the luxury car dynamics don’t seem to be stopping. Rolls Royce, founded in the early 20th century and acquired by BMW in 1998, is gearing up to launch its first all-electric vehicle, the Specter, this year. According to the brand, pre-orders have already “exceeded expectations”.
