Trial of President Biden’s son for tax evasion postponed until September

The trial for alleged tax evasion against Biden Hunterson of the president of U.S, Joe Bidenwas postponed until September, the local press reported this Wednesday.

The process was scheduled for June 20 in California and was postponed until September 5th, NBC News detailed.

FOR Biden Hunter54 years old, is accused of not paying around 1.4 million dollars (around 1.29 million euros) in federal taxes over a four-year period, from 2016 to 2019.

The president’s son has pleaded not guilty to all nine charges he faces, including failure to file and pay taxes and false or fraudulent tax returns, according to court documents.

On April 1st, the district judge Marcos Scarsi rejected his attempts to dismiss his accusation.

Hunter Biden’s lawyers claimed that the accusation was politically motivated, but the judge then assured that his team did not present “virtually no evidence” to verify these arguments.

His gun possession trial will begin in June, after another proposal for a postponement was denied in May.

In the latter case, he faces three counts of illegal purchase and possession of weapons, crimes that carry a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison, although sentences are normally lower for those without a criminal record.

Specifically, he is accused of lying about his drug use in October 2018 on an application to purchase a Colt Cobra revolver 38 caliber that he kept for 11 days.

Never before in the recent history of U.S the son of a sitting president was tried.
