Loiret: two weeks of arm wrestling at Saint-Denis-de-l’Hotel dairy farm

Flags, demands… Near the Laiterie de Saint-Denis-de-l’Hôtel (LSDH), the strikers take turns picketing at the entrance to the factory. The movement has been going on for two weeks. This is the first time in a large company with more than 600 employees involved in the packaging of milk and fruit juices. And so far there is no way out.

The strikers are demanding an upward revision of the wage agreement signed by the CFDT after mandatory annual negotiations. On May 31, the leadership received a delegation of six strikers. But the meeting ended in failure.

“We want an increase of 300 euros, ie 185 euros more than what was signed, and we are also asking for better working conditions,” explains CGT union member Abdelak Ahmaidi.

Administration regrets blocking

The movement, which began on May 23, was resumed at the beginning of the week during a new general meeting. Initially, he mobilized about 150 strikers, and on Tuesday evening there were about 80 more to strike. CGT accuses management of stalling to avoid negotiations.

For his part, he ensures that “many employees are returning to work. “Very clear instructions were given to ensure that striking and non-striking employees find a peaceful and friendly work environment,” she adds in a press release, lamenting Tuesday’s new blocking of the site’s employee entrance.

The strikers say they are still determined and waiting for another meeting to be organized. According to Abdelak Ahmaidi, the Loiret Department of Employment, Labor and Solidarity asked boss Emmanuel Wasseniks to resume the dialogue late last week. But no meeting has been scheduled yet.
