From 1 January 2024, the minimum wage will increase by just under 20 euros.

The increase is significantly lower than what the Minimum Wage Experts Group predicted in late November, which expected a 1.7% minimum wage increase in early 2024. The increase should therefore be just under 20 euros. gross per month. The gross minimum wage today is 1,747.20 euros gross.

The minimum wage can be increased in three ways, reminds vie-publique. Automatically every January 1, according to the consumer price index for the poorest 20% of households (excluding tobacco), combined with “half the increase in the purchasing power of the average hourly wage of blue-collar workers and employees (SHBOE),” according to the decree, “for a year, if the consumer price index prices will increase by at least 2%” compared to the previous revaluation or through an “increase” adopted by the government.
