Over the years, firefighters have seen a dramatic increase in the number and cost of their events, and their funding has not adjusted sufficiently. “We need to find additional resources,” warns Jean-Paul Bosland, president of the French National Federation of Firefighters (FNSP). When you have a hail storm like Allier in the early summer of 2022 that results in 4,000 interventions in 24 hours, and such an exceptional event that happens every five years happens every six months, it can no longer be absorbed.”
