Coca-Cola will move its production from Clamart to Grigny, cutting 47 jobs

French maker of the famous Coca-Cola soda Europacific Partners (CCEP) France will increase by 32 million euros its plan to modernize its Grigny plant in Essonne, but will reduce positions at its plant in Clamart in Hauts-de-Seine. he announced Thursday.

In May 2023, the company, which produces, bottles and sells the US giant’s soft drinks in France, has already announced an initial commitment of 114 million euros to “increase storage capacity” at its 1986-built facility, the largest in the territory. .

Once the work is completed, the Grigny factory will absorb the production of another CCEP site, Clamart, the oldest company in France.

Voluntary departure plan

The transfer of activities and 106 positions is planned for the end of 2025. The Clamart site will then close and 47 positions will be eliminated. Management promises to use internal mobility and voluntary separations “to limit the impact” of the plan on employees.

This new investment of 32 million euros will be used in particular to install a production line for glass bottles intended for return, “the fastest and most flexible in France,” CCEP promises.

It will allow you to bottle still and carbonated drinks into containers of different sizes – from bottles with a volume of 25 or 33 centiliters, available in cafes and restaurants, to bottles with a capacity of one liter.

“This tool will address the challenge of developing a true circular economy for packaging in France’s leading consumer zone,” the company hopes in a press release.

CCEP employs 2,500 people in France and has five factories in the country. The Coca-Cola group of companies is one of the shareholders of the enterprise.
